The Disaster Resilience Education Tasmania (DRET) teacher delivery resource aims to educate students about the fundamentals of disaster resilience and encourage their participation in the development of safer communities.

The five lessons of the DRET unit link to the Australian Curriculum for students in years 5 to 8 in the learning areas of:

  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Geography
  • Science
  • Health
  • general capabilities of Literacy
  • Personal and Social Capability;
  • and the cross curriculum priority of Sustainability.
